We are already planning an exciting symposium, and we are delighted to announce our all-star slate of distinguished speakers.
Danny Sessums has been a historian, educator and museum professional for most of his career. He will be giving a fascinating presentation on the 17th Texas Cavalry, dismounted.
Scott Dearman. Historian and Director of the Mansfield Battlefield State Historic Site will deliver a program chronicling the Battle of Pleasant Hill, a major conflict of the Red River Campaign.
Historian and Civil War uniform expert Fred Adolphus will be relating the story of two Confederate quartermaster officers stationed in Houston during the Civil War.
Author and winner of the 2014 Oklahoma Book Award for nonfiction, amd winner of the 2014 Pate Award from the Fort Worth Civil War Round Table, Mary Jane Warde will speak on the role of Texans in the Civil War in Indian Territory.
Of course, there will also be displays, a vendor room, a fantastic lunch that always gets rave reiews, a raffle, a silent auction with some incredible prizes, and everythinkg that you have come to expect from the Jefferson Civil War Symposium. Do noy dare to miss it!
